My client, a Global Medical Devices Notified Body is seeking a Country Manager for Saudi Arabia.



Job Title : Country Manager

Reports To : Regional Director - MEA

Location : Riyadh �` Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Salary : Circa 100-120k



Purpose of Position:



To manage the activities of the Medical Devices Operations in Saudi Arabia. The legal entity in Saudi Arabia functions as a Conformance Assessment Body (CAB). The activity of the CAB is limited to provide services to the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA). The CAB will be responsible to review the import applications received from the importers via the SFDA. The applications would be reviewed in accordance with the Medical Devices Interim Regulations. The Manager will be responsible for maintaining the relationship with the SFDA Management.



Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

· Planning

In collaboration with EMEA to develop an operational delivery plan for resource requirements for the CAB. To develop annual and quarterly operational and resource plans to ensure that business targets are achieved.

· Management Operation

Manage the operation to ensure that it complies with the Medical Devices Interim Regulations at all times. Manage the resource teams outside KSA which may include ER and permanent employees.

· Key Accounts

To ensure a stronger working relationship between CAB and the SFDA.



· Management of Operational Staff

To recruit, train, develop and integrate full-time and part-time staff and subcontractors into a cohesive operating unit. To control, direct and develop all staff in order to ensure effective use of resources. To maximise their potential and thereby achieve the required targets and objectives

· Communication

In liaison with the Groups senior management, organise and co-ordinate the communication.

· Internal Quality

To assist in the development of the CAB unit quality plan and to ensure that the customer required procedures are in line with regulatory compliance.

· Regional Support

To support international activities as and when requested by Regional and/or International management.



Key Performance Indicators



· Efficient and fruitful partnership with SFDA

· Profit and Loss accountability to budget.

· Number of applications processed per day, month per /CM/TE/ ER

· Maintaining compliance to the Interim Medical Devices Regulations.

· Expenditure

· Maintaining the CAB status

· Profit before tax (PBIT)



Knowledge / Skills / Abilities



· Ideally a Medical Technology Graduate with Management Experience.

· A proven track record or demonstrable experience of driving a medical device or service organisation (preferably within the regional Product Certification and Testing market). This person should have been involved in Operations management at a Regional or National level.

· A sound understanding of all Medical Devices , standard, regulatory, legislative, employment, financial and management accounting procedures is required.

· The ability to develop effective relationships, and therefore operate successfully at all levels, within the group and outside the organisation, is essential, together with good communication and presentation skills. Fluency (verbal and written) in English is essential.

· Experience of the business planning and budgetary control processes. The jobholder would be expected to be computer literate.
